I started posting pictures I took of beautiful places and moments on a Tumblr entitled “The Beauty We Live In” back before being in quarantine became our new normal. I have found during my 4 months of isolation that it is becoming easy to forget, while we are all following the "stay at home" order, how beautiful the world was and is. And yet we are ever more attuned to how amazing some little things we would normally take for granted are. We fight a fear of returning to normalcy while wishing for nothing more than the reopening of the world to our fingertips— an irony that can only be explained by having experienced the joy of the world around us.
I don't plan on overwhelming or boring anyone with my opinions of the world or how you should be feeling (or even viewing it) right now. That's not my place. What I want is simply to send a little reminder that we are not doomed and that these lives we live still offer so much more than what we've been living the last three months. Hang on. Stay vigilant and safe.
To help get us through these tough times, I've decided to share some of the images that inspire me to hold out hope for the world outside our walls with you here, and if you're ever craving some positivity (words, images, songs, etc.), please feel free to follow along.
